ThiEYE T5e, a cheaper alternative to the Xiaomi Yi 2?
Lately, ThiEYE came up with some serious competitors in the world of action cameras. The ThiEYE T5e is advertised to be their first “Authentic 4K” action cam.
According to the features, the ThiEYE T5e and the Xiaomi Yi 2 are very similar cameras (of course, except for the touch screen). After I checked carefully the specs of both cameras, I found out that they are based on totally different hardware. While the ThiEYE T5e camera is built around the Ambarella A12LS75 imaging processor, its contender adopts a different SoC (system-on-a-chip), the Ambarella A9SE75.
Thanks to the powerful hardware, the ThiEYE T5e action camera is capable to record 4K videos with up to 30 fps (frame per second). At full HD (1080P) the camera allows up to 120 FPS video recording which is really nice for those who want to create some cool slow-motion videos.
The ThiEYE T5e features electronic image stabilization and multiple photo modes (like time-lapse and self-timer).
